"Fitumi" Experimental Video, single channel, 03 mins 09 secs. 2016, December
Opening with stereotypical urban scenes, this piece is a sarcastic commentary on our obsession with material success and the futility of constantly running after it. The work questions the socioeconomic structure of our society, where success is often measured in a very narrow, corporate context. Cheesy symbolism, repetition and deconstruction are the key formal elements of the work. FITUMI is the abbreviation of the commonly used catch phrase “Fake It ‘Til You Make it.”
